Everest training in Chamonix

This weeks Chamonix training has gone extremely well. The weather has been unseasonably wintery with over 1m of fresh snow fall above 2600m. Monday was spent rock climbing and abseiling followed by our first treck to Orney Hutt at 2831m. We stayed here over night in a basic but comfortable mountain hutt.

On Tuesday we made an attempt to summit aig du tour and after several hours climbing the glacier we were forced back due to a blizzard. We made the most of the day by ice climbing on a glacier followed by abseiling.

On Wednesday we walked across several glaciers to trient Hutt at 3170M. We stayed here over night and on Thursday reattempted aig du Tour and managed to summit at 3540m. The team then descended back down the glacier towards Chamonix which proved to be testing in another snow storm. Today we head across to Italy to make an attempt on Gran Paradiso.
