North Pole Team in New York

Guy Disney and Ed Parker from the successful North Pole 2011 team spoke in New York on Tuesday night about their expedition and the desire to build upon the unity between wounded soldiers of the United Kingdom and the USA.

During the New York presentation, Guy Disney suggested that once the new Walking with the Wounded Everest team have reached the summit new plans will be underway for an expedition to the South Pole.  The hope for a South Pole expedition is to partner with a US veterans organisation to raise funds and extend a hand to some new American recruits.

“We are here to try to further the relationship between the American wounded and the British wounded,” he said. “We fight alongside each other, we tragically die and are wounded alongside each other, but then we all go home and get on with the rehabilitation in our own backyard.”

Ed Parker, said during an interview with Fox News that one of the goals of the charity is to bring injured British and American veterans together. He hopes to work on the special relationship between the two countries as they embark on incredible journeys together in the future.
