Walking With The Wounded Everest 2012 Team returns home

On Thursday May 17th the Walking With The Wounded Everest 2012 Team, supported by Glenfiddich, arrived home to friends and family at Heathrow.

Looking far more gaunt than when they left some weeks ago, the Everest summit team of Martin Hewitt, Jaco Van Gass, David Wiseman, Karl Hinett, and Dr. Francis Atkinson accompanied by communications support Daniel Majid and military mentor Henry Chaplin flew back home after their summit attempt of Everest was thwarted by the unusually warm conditions seen this year.

The Everest team spent seven weeks at Everest Base Camp, where they climbed Lobuche as part of their acclimatisation  along with Manaslu, the world’s 8th highest mountain at 8,156m.

Obviously the team members were all delighted to be reunited with their loved ones and have their feet back on home soil.
