Stage 3 Preview: The Third And Final Stage

Yesterday saw the team take on the Col du Telegraph, the Col du Galibier and the notorious Alpe d’Huez. The final day of the Trois Etapes Challenge, Tuesday 31st July, will see our heroic team complete this major challenge, overcoming their injuries and raising funds for Walking With The Wounded’s re-training and re-skilling programmes aimed at wounded service personnel.

Total Distance: 97 km  (see map above)

Highest Climb: 1,552 m, Col de la Madeline (see graphic below)

Stage 3 begins with a 44 km cycle to the top of the 1,993 m high peak, Col de la Madeline. From there the team will carry out a controlled descent for over 30 km and reach Saint Jean de Maurienne. The remaining section will take the form of a rolling peleton, and will see the teams return to Orelle.
