South Pole 2013 Selection Weekend: A Round Up

Jaco Van Gass talks to the hopeful candidates

This weekend, the Walking With The Wounded South Pole 2013 selection took place at 4 Rifles Barracks, Bulford. The selection process was as follows.

The weekend kicked off with medical and physical tests. Next the candidates faced a series of team tasks run expertly by the Army Officers’ Selection Board whose support and insight we were hugely thankful for. After the exercises, the servicemen faced an interview with our expedition team. The hardest part of the weekend is to decide who from the 17 we take to Iceland in March for the next phase.

As ever, we are amazed by the determination and tenacity of those who attended. We now have a hard task selecting. To all those who came, well done and thank you for making our task of choosing so very difficult. You inspired us all.
