Walking With The Wounded Charity Dinner

Defence Academy Fundraising Dinner

On Wednesday 3rd October 2012 the Defence Academy played host to a unique charity fundraising dinner in aid of Walking with the Wounded

Sold out within weeks, with 350 staff, students and partners from across the Defence Academy in attendance, as well as a number of guests from the local community, the evening was a great success, with musical entertainment by the Military Wives Choir, the Jazz Ensemble of the Central Band of the Royal Air Force, Pipers from the 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland and our very own in-house boy band The Hyperbolics. Following a fascinating talk from the Charity Co-Founder and North Pole expedition leader, Mr Ed Parker, and two injured servicemen, guests enjoyed a light hearted and fun dinner before bidding remarkably generous sums for the twenty plus charity auctions lots.

Overall, a fun evening, all in a good cause, which raised more than £14,000 for Walking with the Wounded. The Committee would like to thank all those who attended or supported the dinner.
