The National Army Museum has organised another interesting Targeted Talk with Kevin Brown, John Nichol and Jake Wood from Walking With The Wounded to take place on Saturday 2 March 2013 from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
This is the second day of talks after a first successful event in autumn and it will continue the journey through medical history from the drug innovations of the Second World War to the contemporary medical developments which have secured the greatest survival rates in the history of warfare.
The debate will explore the strong relationship between medical and military advancements, spanning the development and mass production of penicillin to the introduction of personal tourniquets and the ‘golden hour’- the hour immediately following traumatic injury in which medical treatment (to prevent irreversible internal damage) is most effective.
