Ride Of The Lions

The Ride of The Lions 1,000km from Melbourne to Sydney, to raise funds for WWTW

The Ride of The Lions will run from 30th June to 6th July and will see a number of ex British and Irish Lions and ex Australian Wallabies rugby union players, ride the 1,000km from Melbourne to Sydney, to raise funds for Walking With The Wounded and Red Kite respectively, between the 2nd and 3rd tests of the Lions Tour of Australia 2013.

The ride will carry the Official Lions Tour Match Ball from Melbourne to Sydney and will finish with an attempt to break the World Record for longest bike bus/peloton in Heffron Park, Sydney, with Sydney cyclists of all ages being invited to participate. The current record is held at 639 riders.

Former rugby stars riding the ROTL 2013 include: Wallabies: Simon Poidevin, Warwick Waugh, Andrew Heath, Matt Cockbain and for the Lions: Peter Winterbottom, Mike Teague, Roger Uttley, Tyrone Howe.
