Etape 1: From St. Etienne de Cuines to Col du Glandon

Etape 1

Distance: 9.5km (GC 20km)
Start: St Etienne de Cuines
Finish: Col du Glandon
Climbing: 1,424m

The day will kick off from the race HQ with a neutralised, mass peloton roll out of 38km to St Etienne de Cuines. The Walking With The Wounded Trois Etapes team will regroup at St Etienne de Cuines to tackle the ascent of Col du Glandon. The teams will be launched in reverse order, with the slowest starting first, according to the team’s prologue position, in 90 second intervals.

After crossing the finishing line, each team will make its own way back to Orelle. The route back to the valley floor summits the Col de la Croix de Fer before returning to race HQ.

On Etape 1 there are a maximum of 20 points available for each team. The clock will stop when the fourth member of each team (amateurs or pro), will summit the Col du Glandon.

The fastest team will be awarded 20 points, the second fastest 18 points and so on to the tenth fastest team, which will be awarded 2 points.
