The Trois Etapes 2013 event was a success and the Walking With The Wounded riders had the chance to experience team cycling under race conditions, with the full support that a pro would have in a Grand Tour.
However the final, and what would have been a glorious conclusion was cancelled as a result of the dreadful weather conditions. Thunder, lightning and torrential rain would have made the conditions treacherous, so the organiser Cosaveli had to make the decision to cancel the race.

As a result the dZi Foundation US team became worthy winners of this year’s competition, beating their close rivals dZi Foundation Europe and Right To Play (red) into second and third place while the Walking With The Wounded team retained their eighth place position.

Listen to the voice blog by Rob Pendleton, Marketing Director at LDC, the title sponsor of the WWTW Team, as he talks us through the race results and announces that Trois Etapes 2013 will be soon featured on a dedicated Channel 4 TV Programme.

“I’ve just returned from France after four days of an incredible performance by the Walking With The Wounded Team. The entire team was superb and complemented numbers of times by competitors, crew and supporters. […] It was seeing nearly all the eight members of the team reach the summit together, which no other team managed to achieve. […] There will be a TV programme about the Trois Etapes that will be going out on the 10th of August, and I do encourage you to look at that to see how the team faced the challenge.”
