Walking With The Wounded Form Tripartite Partnership For Training Course Advisor

Walking With The Wounded are delighted to announce a tripartite partnership with The Regular Forces Employment Charity (RFEA) and Alabaré Christian Care and Support to fund an employment advisor who will work exclusively with wounded veterans.

Alabaré was founded in 1991 to help vulnerable and marginalised people overcome their barriers and lead happy, fulfilling lives. In 2009 they opened their first home for veterans and since then have grown to establish multiple homes across the South West of England, specialising in supporting ex-servicemen and women in their move to independent accommodation, training and work. The RFEA specialise in helping veterans leaving the Armed Forces to find and remain in employment throughout their working lives, by providing training opportunities and accessible information. Acting as the employment body for the partnership, the RFEA have employed Tony Lovegrove, ex-royal navy and involved in the judicial system, to lead the course in an aim to improve the skills and confidence of fifty-two wounded veterans over a twelve month period.

“We are very grateful to Walking With The Wounded and RFEA for the new employment advice service for the  wounded veterans in our Bristol and Gloucestershire homes. The veterans all wish to gain new skills and find employment. With the support of Walking With The Wounded and RFEA, they will have a greater chance of achieving their aspirations. This is a very exciting new initiative!”

–  Andrew Lord, Chief Executive of Alabaré

The scheme will be carried out within the Alabaré Gloucestershire and Bristol homes and they are extremely positive about the partnership between Walking With The Wounded and RFEA, including Tony Lovegrove’s involvement. Walking With The Wounded continue to work in partnership with expert organisations like RFEA and Alabaré, who can effectively deliver training, education, career transition advice and planning for our wounded veterans.
