To put it into perspective, since 2010 Virgin Money Giving’s fundraising platform have allowed us to save over £32,000. This money has gone directly to supporting our wounded ex-servicemen and women back into sustainable employment and therefore secure back their independence.
£32,000 allows us to:
- Secure 17 employment outcomes for wounded servicemen and women through our First Steps programme
- Launch a new Home Straight programme catering for 35-40 homeless veterans at any one point
- Support 70 veterans through our Head Start programme
Furthermore, as a result of Virgin Money Giving’s high profile, we have been able to broaden our support base and significantly enhance how our fundraisers raise money on our behalf due to the Virgin Money Giving platform.
Further to the support we have received from Virgin Money Giving, Virgin Money was also the Title Sponsor for the South Pole Allied Challenge, the WWTW team sponsor for the Marathon Des Sables 2015 and is currently a walking partner of the Walk Of Britain.
Co-founder and CEO of Walking With The Wounded commented: ‘I consider Virgin Money and Virgin Money Giving core partners to the development of WWTW’s ability to fundraise from our ever growing supporter base. Their support and innovation has had a significant impact to the charity, and we look forward to working with them for many years.’
