Colonel Nicholas Hurst

November 7, 2013 @ 12:00 am

Nicholas Hurst, the son of Colonel Nicholas Hurst, is giving a talk at Wittersham Village Hall, near Tenterden in Kent entitled ‘Following the Footsteps of a Kitchener Volunteer.’ Colonel Nicholas Hurst was born in 1896 and fought with the 9th Royal Dublin Fusiliers from 1915 to 1918 before transferring to the 9th Gurkhas and serving with them until 1947. Much of the material has been drawn from the Colonel\’s diaries and photographs and is a fascinating look into the life of a career soldier.
