One boat. One Ocean. Four women. The ‘Coxless Crew‘ are seeking to achieve a world first with an ambitious expedition in aid of Walking With The Wounded and Breast Cancer Care – rowing 8,446 miles unsupported across the Pacific Ocean.
The crew of Laura Penhaul, Emma Mitchell, Isabel Burnham and Natalia Cohen will set off from San Francisco, California, on 18 April on the first leg of their three-stage row to Hawaii then onto Samoa and finally the last leg to the finish line in Cairns, Australia.
The route has never been completed by a team of four (just solo or pairs) and this will be the first time it has been done as a continuous three-stage row. Their efforts have been recognised by securing Kylie Minogue as their expedition patron to support the teams values of empowering women.
