Maidwell Hall Mountain Hike

June 5, 2014 - June 8, 2014

Students at Maidwell Hall Preparatory School will be raising funds for Walking With The Wounded during a three day, 30 mile unsupported hiking expedition. The hike involves climbing the two highest mountains in England (Scafell Pike and Helvellyn) as well as Great Gable. The walk will be three full days long and the students will be camping for all three nights. They will be carrying all of their kit (tents, food, water, clothes) and it will be a totally unsupported expedition. They will walk an average of 9 hours per day with full packs and cover a total of 30.5 miles. This would be a challenge for your average adult so for a group of 12 year olds it will be an incredible achievement! We wish lots of luck to all the students taking part!
