You can support Sarah in her MdS challenge here:
Supporting wounded service people into employment, and more widely, enabling employment opportunities for all those who have faces physical or mental struggles, is something I truly believe in.
How’s your training going – what have you done so far, which milestones have you hit and are you happy with where you are so far?
Training is going well, in the sense that I have managed not to injure myself… I’m not getting as much mileage in as I would like, but half the battle is in getting to the start line in one piece. I’ve never yet felt fully trained for any event I’ve entered, so at least I’m consistent.
What do you see as the biggest challenge?
It’s 80% mental, and the rest of it is just in your head.
What luxuries will you treat yourself to during the MdS?
I’m taking a sleeping mat and spare socks. Luxury.
What 1 item of food are you taking which is your treat?
Fried salted broad beans.
What will you be listening to on your iPod?
Not planning on taking electronics, I have an extensive stock of earworms and will probably be the one singing ‘Climb Every Mountain’ long after it’s stopped being funny.
Is there anything which you know you will be looking forward to at the end, before even beginning?!
A cup of tea and a nice lie down.
