Why have you agreed to be part of Walking with The Wounded?

A phenomenal opportunity and a great to chance to show what is achievable, It would be hard to say no if I had both legs, now I have one it is a must.

How, when and where were you wounded?

July 4th 2009. On operation ‘Panchai Palang’ or ‘Panthers Claw’ as it is known in the UK. My troop was involved in the initial thrust, my armoured vehicle – a Spartan came under heavy fire in an ambush and a rocket propelled grenade pierced the hull and went through my leg subsequently killing Private Robbie Laws from the Mercian regiment.

How have you found the training so far?

All good so far, I drag tyres 3-4 times a week and the stump is bearing up well, I believe the first recce to Spitsbergen in May will give a good indication of what is required.

Daily activities

Run 4 miles a day and drag tyres 3-4 times a week, trying to build this up to ten miles in each stint but only on 3 – 4 miles currently. I play a lot of squash as the impact work helps toughen the injury up.
