Why have you agreed to be part of Walking with The Wounded?
Adventure is my life, and the Polar Regions are my passion. In my work as a guide, I get to take people to these amazing places, and I see how they have life changing experiences. It is so fascinating to observe how people overcome the physical and mental hardship, how they work in a team, and how they react under pressure. This expedition is interesting and important in so many ways. It will give the war wounded a chance to inspire other wounded soldiers and people with disabilities or any illness. It might change the public’s perception of wounded soldiers, and give them recognition for their sacrifice. And it will be a life changing experience for all of us taking part in the project. Both the team members and everybody involved. I am very proud to be part of this expedition.
Team member profile
I work all over the world, leading expeditions and adventures. I also work a lot with film and TV logistics and safety. My favourite places are the Arctic Ocean because it brings out the best in me, and the Norwegian mountains, and fjords because they are so beautiful. I like challenges, and I believe that “there is no shortcut to any place worth going”.
How have you found the training so far?
Most of my life is focused around adventures and expeditions. I need to have some kind of challenge to prepare for. Otherwise I get fat and lazy. I constantly have to put myself under pressure to keep fit. I love the feeling of pushing my body to the limits, and the feeling of being in balance physically and mentally. I can’t wait to start training with the team.
Daily activities
When I am not traveling around the world, I like to spend time with my daughter and with good friends. I read a lot of books. Mostly nonfiction. I also try to escape up in the mountains as often as I can.
