Harry’s South Pole Heroes on ITV

WWTW | March 12, 2014

On Sunday 16th and Sunday 23rd March at 8pm GMT, ITV will be airing Harry’s South Pole Heroes, a two-part documentary following the adventures of the Virgin Money South Pole Allied Challenge 2013, and we want you to watch it and join the conversation about one of the largest Antarctic expeditions to date!

After four weeks, 200km and a gruelling battle against the harsh elements of Antarctica, the three teams reached the South Pole on Friday 13th December 2013, a momentous occasion and a journey that will be shared with audiences through this series for those who took part it was an emotional step in their road since injury.

In Episode One, we meet Walking With The Wounded Expedition Patron Prince Harry and Team Glenfiddich, the British participants. We learn about the serious injuries suffered by each of them, and watch as they undergo an intensive training regime, which includes spending a night in a specialised cold chamber normally used for testing vehicles. The team also meets The Queen at Buckingham Palace and bid tearful farewells to their family and friends before arriving in Antarctica.

Take a look at the teaser trailer by clicking here and don’t miss this insight into the team members’ traumatic experiences and their determination to overcome life-changing injuries and complete the challenge. For more videos and highlights from the expedition, check out the WWTW YouTube Channel.

Before, during and after each airing, the Walking With The Wounded Twitter account will be tweeting using the hashtag #SupportTheWalk and we ask you to join the conversation in the same way across all social media platforms. Additionally, you can keep an eye out for our tweets and ‘retweet’ them.

Walking With The Wounded works hard to get injured servicemen and women the training and education they need to join the civilian workplace, and couldn’t do it without your help.
We hope you enjoy the documentary and please donate to support the walk.

Can the documentary be purchased on DVD? Apparently many markets in the US are not broadcasting this.

    Hi Kim

You can’t purchase it on CD at the moment because it hasn’t been broadcast. However it is being shown around the world including the US on NBC. Although that will be a US version.

  • Kim Norris says:

Thanks Simon but neither of the 2 markets where I have access to a DVR (Boston, MA and San Antonio, TX) are broadcasting the show. The local NBC affiliates are instead choosing to broadcast reruns. I am not amused.

  • CR says:

Kim, the NBC/US edition doesn’t have an air date yet, though I’m presuming it will be soon.
