I watched good friends tackle MDS last year, and it reminded me it had been somewhere on my bucket list since University.  Somewhat out of practice, I dusted off my trainers, took them out of retirement and have been softly muttering ‘this is madness’ ever since!

I watched good friends tackle MDS last year, and it reminded me it had been somewhere on my bucket list since University. Somewhat out of practice, I dusted off my trainers, took them out of retirement and have been softly muttering ‘this is madness’ ever since! Many of my University friends went on to join the army, a few now have life changing injuries. By trade I am a doctor, in fact I work in one of London’s major trauma centres. What has become really clear is that modern medicine is super clever, and life can be preserved despite catastrophic injuries. Being discharged from Intensive Care however is not the end of the road. Adapting to a different way of life and re-training to get back into work takes considerable investment and WWTW do an invaluable job here. Am I scared? A little! What am I most looking forward to? Getting out to the desert with an incredible bunch of people and giving it my all. Carpe Diem! You can sponsor Claire here.
