Ibrar Ali MC

Ibi is a former Captain in the Army who lost his right arm below the elbow caused by a roadside bomb in Iraq, February 2007. Ibi was part of Walking With The Wounded's South Pole Expedition team in 2013 and since then has gone on to raise awareness and funds for the charity.

“I feel honoured to have been asked to become a Walking With The Wounded Ambassador as I know only too well the amazing work that the charity has done in helping physically and mentally injured veterans.  Having served in the British Army for close to 12 years, I saw first hand how hard our servicemen and women work in incredibly tough conditions which for some can lead to life changing illness and/or injuries. By providing an opportunity for such service leavers, no matter when they left service, to access the help they need to restore balance to their lives is an incredible area to work in. Having left service in 2013, I feel I should continue to try and help other veterans that are less fortunate than myself as I see it as my duty to, much the same as when I had the privilege of commanding on operations.”

As a nation, we need to support our soldiers when they return to normal life. Walking with the wounded supports these veterans back into work.
