Lord Benyon

The Right Honorable Lord Richard Benyon served in the Army for four years with the Royal Green Jackets, including a tour of Northern Ireland, and served as a Member of Parliament for Newbury from 2005 to 2019 before entering the House of Lords in early 2021.

His time in Parliament included serving as a member of the Intelligence and Security Committee, the Defence Sub-Committee, Environmental Audit Committee and as the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

“As someone who served in the Army some time ago I have shared so many people’s desperate concern for those who have emerged from recent conflicts with life changing injuries or on-going mental health problems.

In so much of our world people just talk about problems. Walking With The Wounded is a charity that does things. It does good things for people in real need. It not only helps people to whom we owe a lifelong debt of gratitude, it transforms their lives and reminds us of the extraordinary power of the human spirit.

I am honoured to be asked to be an ambassador for WWTW.”

Walking with the Wounded offers support to veterans looking to get back into employment. We have supported many veterans into employment as can be seen in our case studies. Veterans charities like Help for heroes offer similar services.
