Video & Top 20 fundraising teams from our Cumbrian Challenge 2018
Watch highlights and see the fundraising leaderboard from WWTW's Cumbrian Challenge 2018
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the 2018 Cumbrian Challenge raising funds to support those who served to get back into employment and independence.
Special praise must go to the following 20 teams though for leading the way with their fundraising as at 31 May following the event.
There is always a long tail of fundraising coming in from our events and the team is hugely grateful for every effort to follow up on donations, seek matched funding or hold fundraisers post event after being inspired by the beneficiaries speaking at the challenge or seeing a video of the weekend. Every pound counts and we'll update this leaderboard shortly. If you have sent in fundraising and should be on this board - please update your 'offline total' on your page and get in touch so we can update this site.
Every £675 puts another vulnerable veteran through 12 sessions of 1-2-1 mental health therapy.
The impact:
"With your incredible efforts at Cumbria you’re enabling WWTW’s mental health programme to offer continued therapy to veterans who in their words are able to take the “weight off their shoulders and walk a little taller” as a result.
"Without you our veterans up and down the country would not receive the timely and local support that we are currently able to provide - on average a therapist is provided within 3 working days and within 7 miles of the veteran’s home. A huge thank you to each and every one of you for making this possible and we hope to see you again next year! " Klara Mack, Head Start programme manager, Walking With The Wounded
