Have you got your Tommy?
There's never been a better time to support the There But Not There campaign.
The charity Remembered has been working tirelessly over the last few weeks to raise as much money as possible for us in the run up to Remembrance Day. When they recently petitioned the government for the return of the VAT on the sale of their Tommy statues, the support of the public was overwhelming and we are delighted to hear that the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, has since announced that the government will be making a donation equivalent to VAT on all WWI commemorative items.
This is fantastic news! And it means that the funds we and our fellow beneficiary charities will receive from the project will be boosted significantly, which will have a great impact on the work we all do. With this in mind, there has never been a better time to support the campaign. You can buy a Tommy in store at your local WHSmith or online: just click here.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this campaign so far - your support has been invaluable.
