WARpaint by Caroline de Peyrecave
We are very grateful to be one of the benefiting charities of the WARpaint project which is based around 15 life size portraits painted by the portrait artist, Caroline de Peyrecave, of sailors, soldiers and aircrew, representing the many conflicts that our Armed Forces have been involved in since the Second World War.
It began when Caroline, who typically works by commission from her London studio, was approached by 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards to posthumously paint Lt Dougie Dalzell, MC – killed in action in 2010 in Afghanistan on his 27th birthday. After Dougie’s parents decided to set up a memorial trust in their son’s name (DDMT), Caroline’s experience working on the project inspired her to create WARpaint.
The Collection went on public display this summer (2016). The portraits will then be on permanent loan at Stanford Hall, the new Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre opening in 2018.
To raise money for Walking With The Wounded and other military charities, individual paintings from the Collection can be leased on a private basis or by companies for periods of a month to a year at the launch costs of:
£3,000 per month, £5,000 for three months and £12,000 for one year.
