Going the extra mile: Demob Job LTD raise over £4,000 for WWTW

We are extremely grateful to all of our fundraisers who take on extraordinary challenges to raise money for WWTW. On September 8th, a team from Demob Job LTD took on the Great North Run in aid of our charity and raised an impressive £4,000! The team share their thoughts about their experience below:

Adrian Cheesman -“Well the run is now over; we had a great time. Throughout this year, we have been overwhelmed with the support people have shown for our veterans and yesterday we reached a sum of £4,000 raised for Walking With The Wounded. You know that raising money is not easy; it has been hard work, so on behalf of us all, I would like to thank every single one of you who contributed. Bringing things to a close I am also going to take the opportunity to personally thank all the team here at Demob Job for their focused determined approach, especially Joanne Foster, Kelly Chandler and Kim O'Brien, all non-runners who put in a great deal of training to absolutely smash it on the day! Well done team, I am proud of you all.”

Joanne Foster- “It was a great day, the support along the way was amazing and I am absolutely over the moon to complete my first GNR.  Bring on next year!”

Kim O’Brien- “The day was absolutely fantastic! I’d certainly recommend doing the Great North Run to anybody and the atmosphere along the way is phenomenal and makes you proud to be from the North East!  Raising money for WWTW and also raising their profile prior to the run and on the day itself was the cherry on the cake!”

Kelly Chandler- “Nothing can prepare you for the experience, it’s very emotional seeing everyone’s reasons for running and the crowds are amazing… especially the children’s power up signs! Very proud to have completed my first GNR for WWTW… it was an honour to run for you… see you next year!”

Adrian Cheesman – “The whole journey from the initial decision to run the Great North Run, raising money for WWTW and completing the run itself has been a great experience. As a business it created a focus to a cause which we are passionate about and brought the team closer together to achieve a common aim; I would recommend it to any business owner.”
