Positive Pathways. By Veterans For Veterans.
We’re very happy to announce that WWTW has been successful in securing funding through the Armed Forces Covenant Fund’s Positive Pathways Programme to deliver two new projects in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Part of the Veterans’ Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, the Positive
Pathways Programme funds projects that develop and run activities that
support the mental health and wellbeing of ex-forces personnel.
The MEDALS project in Scotland will offer a
series of mental health recovery events including opportunities to increase
physical activity and take part in sports, arts, music, mindfulness and other
wellbeing sessions.
The NI Veteran Art & Culture Navigation project aims to engage
veterans in a wide range of art, heritage and culture activities. There will be particular emphasis on
hard-to-reach veterans, linking them into wellbeing activities and communities.
We will also be collaborating with AA Veterans' Support on their
NI Veterans’ Sports and Outdoors Navigation.
The project will identify, locate, promote and support social
prescription and wellbeing activities for veterans, specifically sports and
outdoor-related activities, across Northern Ireland. The group will work in
collaboration with Northern Ireland Veterans' Support Office (NIVSO) and
Walking With The Wounded (WWTW) to identify isolated veterans and link them
into wellbeing activities and communities.
If you’re an Armed Forces supporting charity
or CIC and you’re interested in applying for funding through the Positive
Pathways Programme please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at positivepathways@wwtw.org.uk. As Strategic Partners, WWTW can
offer comprehensive support in Northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland
for applicants and grant holders to connect and develop.
