Forces Family Finance choose WWTW as Charity Of The Year

Inspired by Walking Home - family firm step up their support

Forces Family Finance has kindly chosen Walking With The Wounded as its Charity Of The Year for 2020.

Founder Nadine Monks was inspired to do more after taking part in the charity's Walking Home For Christmas event and learning about our work - especially our mental health programme Head Start and the fact our charitable objectives extend to family members of ex servicemen and women who provide a crucial first line of support for so many.

Nadine said: "After signing up and getting more information about the charity, it opened my eyes to the breadth of practical support they can offer not only Veterans, but their families as well. Working with members of the Armed Forces community everyday and being one myself, I have a true empathy for the impact of service life and am really passionate about raising money for this cause and making spouses and families aware there is extra mental health support available for you too.

"I know first hand that you can often feel forgotten as the spouse/dependant of…I really hope that by making Walking With The Wounded our charity of the year, we can do our bit to raise more money and create wider awareness of what the charity does.

"Last year we walked with a team of four (for Walking Home For Christmas in December), this year it would be great if more members of the local community could join us, so it becomes a new tradition."

Walking With The Wounded event manager Andy Sloan said: "It is great to see another company continue their support which will help us support more veterans through our employment, mental health and care coordination programmes. There is something wonderfully simple about Walking Home For Christmas which brings people together and forges lasting memories and it is powerful to hear how Nadine and her team are seeking to build a legacy in their community on the back of it by nurturing an annual event to support the cause."

Forces Family Finance is based out of Chatham, Kent, and works nationwide with its team of experienced and qualified financial advisers who are all part of the Armed forces community with an inherent understanding of military life.

The company signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2015, updated this pledge in 2017 and earlier this month pledged its commitment once more to further show its support and its services have been tailored and are dedicated to supporting our Armed forces, veterans and their families.
