Will you take on The 2.6 Charity Challenge and support WWTW beneficiaries?
The coronavirus pandemic has had a huge impact on charities, with the cancellation of thousands of events and the potential loss of billions in fundraising income.
In response, the organisers of the biggest mass-participation sports events across the country have come together to create a new campaign to raise vital funds.
The 2.6 Challenge will launch on Sunday 26 April – what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon, the world’s biggest one-day annual fundraising event.
We would love you to be part of
this in support of WWTW and the work we continue to deliver supporting
vulnerable veterans across the UK.
What is the 2.6 challenge?
This is a challenge for all ages and abilities. All you need to do is think of an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26. You could run, hop, skip, scoot or bounce 2.6 miles, walk around your garden 26 times, complete 26 push ups… perhaps for 26 days in a row. Make it as difficult (or not) as you wish.
The money you raise will make a huge difference to vulnerable ex-servicemen and women who are at risk of withdrawing further at this time of increased social exclusion.
How to take part:
1. Decide on your 2.6 or 26 activity
2. Set up your fundraising page
3. Share your plans on social media with #TwoPointSixChallenge and #supportthewalk
4. Complete your challenge from Sunday 26 April!
Make sure to follow Government guidelines to stay safe while taking part.
Thank you for your ongoing support. You can read about the difference your fundraising makes to the men and women we support, here.
Good luck!
