Special Forces Veteran and WWTW Supporter Sets New Lake District Wainwright Record
Chris, a Special Forces Veteran, has set a record after completing 'Project 214' Wainwright Challenge unsupported and trekking solo.
The Wainwright is a popular peak challenge in the UK. It involves climbing all 214 peaks in the Lake District.
Chris walked and climbed 325 miles, carrying all his food, maps, cooking and camping equipment, water, spare clothing, safety, and first aid kit and only topping up his water supplies. The pack weighed more than 20kg, and his feat included 95,000ft of ascent. That is the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest 4 times.
He completed the challenge in just 11 days, beating the previous record of 14 days.
Chris is raising money for Walking With The Wounded and has so far raised a phenomenal £5,000 for the Charity. This will go towards supporting veterans and their family members.
