The events unfolding in Afghanistan may be distressing to people who have served or been affected by combat.
Especially those thinking of lost colleagues and friends. We understand that this is a difficult time, but you are not alone.
NHS and charity mental health support services are available to veterans and their family members. If you need immediate and urgent support, contact 999. If you are struggling and need to talk to someone, you can call Samaritans on 116 123 or the Combat Stress 24-hour helpline on 0800 138 1619. Alternatively, WWTW supports Op Courage, the new NHS Veterans' mental health, and wellbeing service. Any veteran can get in touch with their local NHS Veterans' Service. You can contact the service yourself or ask your GP, a charity, or someone else, such as a family member or friend, to do this for you.
