Green Park take on WWTW’s Cumbrian Challenge

Walking With The Wounded are heading to the Lake District to host our annual flagship fundraising event, the Cumbrian Challenge. After the event’s postponement from last year due to covid, everyone is looking forward to a successful event, with hundreds of teams taking part in a covid-secure setting.

More than 175 teams are taking part in the hiking challenge, including two teams from Green Park who have so far raised over £3,000 to allow WWTW to continue to provide services for those ex-servicemen and women who need our support.

Green Park are an award-winning recruitment firm that was set up in 2006 to provide the full range of recruitment services, across Civil Society and Government, and the Private sector. They provide high-level executive search, as well as interim and people solutions.

Dawar Hashmi, Partner for Local government and Health Practices, said “we have a strong ethos within our business to support and help charities. For me though, this is a cause that really touched me. I see our troops as superhumans. We live a privileged and comfortable life because our troops are willing to sacrifice themselves in order to keep us safe. I’m only delighted at the opportunity to do something that might help”.

In relation to Green Park’s fundraising, Dawar had this advice to give: “Don’t be shy to ask business contacts or your network. We are so good on social media when it comes to work-related stuff. A simple post on LinkedIn or Twitter, especially if you have a big following, could work wonders”.
