Walking Home For Christmas 2021 - who is topping the leaderboard?

Walking Home For Christmas 2021 might have officially finished, but there is still time to encourage more donations from your supporters and climb up the leaderboard.

This year, an incredible 1,272 people signed up to take part and walk to support veterans and their families this Christmas. So far, over £130,000 has been raised and this will enable our team to deliver 1,596 mental health sessions. Your donations really do enable us to provide life-changing support to those who served.

Currently, the phenomenal Mark Harding is sitting at the top of the leaderboard for individual fundraisers. Mark was paralysed from the neck down whilst serving in Afghanistan but fought against the odds and through years of therapy, is now able to walk again. Mark recently completed his Walking Home For Christmas walk, taking on a 39-mile route whilst pulling a pulk with donations for those in need. His story was recently featured on BBC’s This Morning Live! Support Mark, here.

Ed Parker, former CEO of WWTW, and his team are currently dominating the leaderboard having raised the most money as a team. Ed and 7 friends walked 20 miles along the South Downs Way. Support their walk here.

Finally, The Armed Forces Cadets are currently leading the way as an organisation supporting the campaign. Over 180 Cadets and 30 teams took part in Walking Home For Christmas and thanks to their incredible efforts, they have so far raised over £14,000 to support those who served. Follow this link to donate to their collective effort.

Thank you to everyone who has taken on the Walking Home For Christmas challenge this year. Thanks to you, the WWTW team will be able to continue to deliver targeted support programmes for veterans and their families throughout 2022 and beyond.
