Community interest company, All Together Cumbria, are showing support for the Armed Forces community through participation in Walking With The Wounded’s (‘WWTW’s’) Cumbrian Challenge and sponsoring the event t-shirts.
All Together Cumbria invests in providing
the people of Cumbria with opportunities and access to employment, delivering
recruitment in a meaningful way. All
Together Cumbria operates a recruitment desk to support businesses to resource
robustly, re-investing revenues in skills and employability programmes that
assist people to access employment, whilst enabling businesses to develop a
more sustainable local workforce.
A key theme of All Together Cumbria is
to widen workforce participation from underrepresented and disadvantaged
groups, a theme that closely links to the work of WWTW which help those that
have served to gain new employment.
This is the third year that the team
at All Together Cumbria have supported the charity’s flagship fundraising challenge.
The team-building event takes place on
May 14th this year. It offers participants the chance to walk
alongside some of the veterans who have been supported by the charity.
James Davis, WWTW Events Manager,
commented, “We are delighted to welcome the All Together Cumbria team back
to the Cumbrian Challenge. It is fantastic that corporate partners come back
year after year to face the Peak, Tough or Tougher routes, overcome challenges
as a team and raise vital funds to support those who served.”
In its 9th year, the
Cumbrian Challenge has seen over 1,200 teams take part, raising over £1.2
million in fundraising.
Andrew Dodds, All Together Cumbria
Social Enterprise Manager, added, “Our teams are excited to be heading
back to the Cumbrian Challenge in May. It’s
a brilliant team-building event and we are delighted that our teams this year include
associates of All Together Cumbria, including Jacobs, Solomons Europe and
recruitment partner NRL. The challenge provides
a unique opportunity to speak directly to the staff who work on the frontline
at WWTW and the veterans whose lives have been changed by the support of the charity.
We can’t wait to face the Cumbrian fells once again and know that our sponsorship
and fundraising is making a difference to the ex-forces community.”
