Cumbrian Challenge 2022 – Best team names so far.

We are excited to welcome back hundreds of supporters to Grasmere next month for our annual Cumbrian Challenge event.

The event focuses on teamwork, with groups of 3-4 people signing up to take on the Peak, Tough or Tougher routes. Together, they overcome mental and physical obstacles and ultimately finish the challenge as a team.

The team name is an important part of the Cumbrian Challenge event. Every year, many teams find ways to be inventive with their names to help with their fundraising and to differentiate themselves from others taking part.

With over 1 teams sign-up so far, we have pulled out some of our favourites.

WWTW Supporter, Mark Harding was paralyzed from the neck down whilst serving in the Armed Forces in Afghanistan. Through years of rehabilitation and medical support, he learnt to walk again, and in 2021, Mark took on WWTW’s Cumbrian Challenge, tackling the Peak route. In our latest blog, we find out more about his time in the Armed Forces, why he’s supporting WWTW and why he is returning to the Lake District in May this year.

Walking With The Wounded postpones Armed Forces Day Battlefield Cycle event to 2023

Walking With The Wounded’s Battlefield Cycle which was set to see teams of riders’ cycle approximately 80 miles per day across 5 days, from Amsterdam to Paris, accompanied by a military historian, has been postponed until Summer 2023.
