OP-REGEN regional leaders from across greater Manchester worked alongside staff members from the northwest to help rejuvenate the outdoor areas of the Manchester office and support house.

On the 1st November 2021 Brian Wood will pay tribute to our fallen from the Iraq and Afghanistan conflict by starting his Ultimate Sacrifice Challenge pledging to run a minimum of 26 miles per day for 25 days dedicating every mile to our fallen comrades, totalling 635 miles.

On the morning of Saturday 11th September, 179 teams came together to the start line of Walking With The Wounded’s long-awaited 10th Cumbrian Challenge, which had been postponed since 2019. Teams of 3 or 4 embarked on 3 routes across the Cumbrian mountains: Peak (10km, 900m ascent), Tough (22km 1350m ascent), Tougher (29km 1900m ascent).

They came, they saw, they conquered the peaks and themselves for Walking With The Wounded.

The expedition has been postponed twice due to the Covid-19 pandemic so, for certainty, the charity has reimagined it in the UK, so they can still showcase the value of veterans and raise funds and awareness of veteran issues, especially in light of the recent withdrawal of Western forces from Afghanistan.

OP-REGEN is Walking With The Wounded’s (‘WWTW’) volunteer programme and throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, volunteers from across the country stepped up to support those who served and their local community.

The long-awaited Cumbrian Challenge, promised since 2019, has almost arrived and we can't wait to welcome our teams to the event, all 179 of them.

This year, Remember A Charity Week runs from 6 to 12 September.

In February 2021 Models for Heroes (M4H), in partnership with Walking With The Wounded, were awarded a grant through the AFCFT’s Positive Pathways Programme for their ‘Online Model Making for Veterans’ project.
