The Invictus Games is a key partner of The Grenadier Walk of Oman expedition. It was established by Walking With The Wounded’s Expedition Patron, The Duke of Sussex, in 2014 after he watched the Warrior Games in the USA in 2013.

As the Grenadier Walk of Oman continue their incredible journey across the green hills in the UK, the landscape around them is a far cry from vast desert plains in Oman.

The Armed Forces serve and protect our country; however, their support does not stop at the battlefield- Armed Forces personnel also play a vital role in supporting wider society.

The Walk of Oman, delayed twice by Covid and reimagined in the UK, is the embodiment of our mantra of ‘adapt and overcome’.

A career in the Armed Forces provides a job, financial security, a home, and a friendship group and, for some, the transition from the Armed Forces to civvy street can be stressful.

“I served with the Queen's Royal Hussars for 14 years, I am incredibly proud of serving my country during my time on operations and back in the UK following in my dad and grandads’ footsteps.”

“Some of the best, most interesting people I know, are those men and women who have had to overcome adversity,” said Inge Solheim, who guided Walking With The Wounded’s North and South Pole expeditions.

Sunday October 10th marks World Mental Health day, an international awareness day that brings the focus to global mental health awareness and education.

Over the past decade, Walking With The Wounded has pioneered ambitious expeditions around the world. We have taken teams of veterans to the North and South Poles, the slopes of Everest, walked the length of Britain, and crossed the USA.

WWTW supports those who have served. We have teamed up with CEO Sleepout to try and combat homelessness amongst individuals and veterans in the UK.
