We are delighted to announce we have received a significant two-year grant from The St James's Place Charitable Foundation which will be put towards providing a front-line Care Coordinator in the North-West region and the services they are able to offer to veterans in need.
On receiving the grant, Tom Knight, Head of Services at WWTW, said: “For many at the end of their military service, the transition back into civilian life is relatively smooth. But we exist to support those who have fallen the furthest - veterans experiencing significant physical, mental or social challenges that impact their day-to-day lives.
“In 2024, our staff spent over 48,640 hours directly with veterans. Each one of those hours standing side-by-side to help our beneficiaries on their path back to civilian life, dealing with any physical, mental, social or financial challenges along the way.
“Our services rely on our front-line specialised front-line caseworkers who deliver that face-to-face support tailored to each person's unique needs, backgrounds and challenges. This two-year grant from St James’s Place Foundation will make a huge positive difference for veterans in the north-west of England by supporting a member of the team in an area where we see large numbers of veterans needing our help.”
The St James’s Place Foundation funds small and medium sized charities across the UK and overseas working, principally, with children who are disadvantaged physically, socially or economically but the Foundation also funds hospices, mental health charities and cancer support charities.
