We are proud to announce a new partnership with Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI)'s award-winning Lifeworks programme.

Through this collaboration, Walking With The Wounded will formally refer eligible beneficiaries to Lifeworks courses as part of their professionally informed recovery pathway.

Lifeworks will now operate as an integrated part of WWTW’s support pipeline, offering tailored employability support for veterans, by veterans. The partnership strengthens both organisations’ commitment to delivering tailored, veteran-first support that empowers individuals to rebuild confidence and re-enter the workforce

“Employment is a vital part of recovery and long-term stability. We’re proud to be working hand-in-hand with WWTW to ensure veterans receive the right support at the right time, whether that’s through vocational assessments, bespoke life skills modules, or practical job search tools.”

Steve Parrott, former Parachute Regiment and Head of Lifeworks at RBLI

The partnership will operate on a reciprocal basis:

  • WWTW will refer veterans who meet specific criteria to Lifeworks for employability support.
  • Lifeworks will refer veterans back to WWTW if additional recovery-focused support is identified during the course.

This ensures a seamless, joined-up approach to veteran care, maximising outcomes and reducing gaps in service provision.

Delivered nationally, Lifeworks provides:

  • Four-day residential courses and online alternatives for those unable to travel
  • Vocational assessments including psychometric testing
  • Tailored modules covering life skills, confidence-building, and employment readiness
  • Practical tools such as evidence-based CVs, job search strategies, application support, and mock interviews

Veterans leave the course with renewed momentum, key resources and the skills to adapt and compete effectively in today’s job market. The programme is designed and delivered by veterans, for veterans, to help participants return to work within six months.

Both Lifeworks and WWTW recognise the importance of supporting the wider Armed Forces community, including the families of veterans and serving personnel. This partnership will also help highlight and expand that shared commitment.

The collaboration will begin with a six-month pilot, focusing on veterans in the South of England. The intention is to roll out the model nationally, creating a permanent referral pathway for those who are wounded, injured, or sick.

“There’s a real need for clearer pathways across the military charity sector,” said Tommy Watson, Director for Veterans’ Affairs at WWTW. “This partnership is a step toward that, bringing tailored employment support into a wider rehabilitation pathway, in a way that truly serves veterans.”
