Three dedicated cyclists from FDM Group are set to take on a formidable 400km bike ride from Leeds to London on June 19, 2024. Frazer Barrell, Callum Wilson, and James Tuttiett are participating in Walking With The Wounded’s ‘Longest Day Challenge,’ aiming to complete the journey in 16.5 hours.
FDM Group are long-term supporters of WWTW, having raised over £100,000 over the years. Alongside fundraising, FDM Group also offer employment opportunities to WWTW beneficiaries.
The Longest Day 80 campaign, marking the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, encourages supporters to undertake fundraising activities throughout June, focusing on the number 80.
Victoria Doran, Head of Relationships at WWTW, stated, “We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of FDM Group. The Leeds to London cycle is a brilliant example of our corporate supporters going above and beyond to support those who served and their families. This will be no easy feat for Frazer, Callum, and James, but the money they raise will help make a difference in the lives of veterans across the UK.”
James Tuttiett, Sales Director, UK & EMEA at FDM Group, added, “FDM Group has been supporting Walking With The Wounded for several years, not only participating in key fundraising events but also offering employment opportunities to veterans. Our 400km cycle ride will be a challenge, but the difficulties we face pale in comparison to those who served and struggle with transitioning to civilian life. We’re looking forward to raising money and awareness for this incredible charity.”
Stewart Sharman, Global Head of Ex-Forces Programme at FDM Group, said, “WWTW provide excellent support to those service personnel who through no fault of their own have struggled to make a successful transition out of the Forces. This is a small percentage of service leavers but who quite rightly demand the most support - this is what WWTW delivers. The Longest Day Cycle is another opportunity for FDM to not only generate funds for WWTW but also raise awareness of those service leavers who need the most support.”
