How you can get involved in 2026

15 years is a big milestone for us, and we are incredibly grateful to the individuals and organisations that have supported us and our beneficiaries throughout the years. Together, we have supported over 15,000 veterans and their families.
There is still work to be done for the ex-military community, and there are many ways to get involved and support veterans who are finding the transition to civvy life the hardest. From signing our pledge and taking part in events to monthly or one-off donations or corporate support.
Behind every number is a person, a life saved, a future reshaped. That is the achievement we are most proud of, not just the scale of our work, but the lasting difference it makes to real people and the families around them.

Are you ready to step outside your comfort zone, take on a challenge, make lifelong memories, and raise money for ex-service personnel?
If you’re ready to take on an epic running challenge, we currently have places available for the Great Manchester Run 10km, the Royal Parks Half Marathon, and the Great North Run. But be quick, spaces go fast!
If you’re looking for something different this year, why not take on a skydive or Swim Serpentine?
You can also get involved with Walking With The Wounded’s very own events, whether it’s a team day in the Lake District at the Cumbrian Challenge, your own unique challenge on The Longest Day in June, or a winter walking challenge for Walking Home For Christmas.
If you’re not sure which event is right for you, let’s chat. We can help you find the perfect challenge for 2026!
After a 22-year career in the RAF, I was fortunate to leave service without physical injury, but I know many others were not so lucky. Taking part in the Cumbrian Challenge really opened my eyes to the incredible work WWTW does and I wanted to do my bit to support fellow veterans.

Set your own challenge
Is 2026 the year you want to set your own challenge or fundraising event? Whether it’s an individual event, or you're looking to bring together friends, family or local community groups, we can help you every step of the way.
Our top tip is to choose a challenge or event you will enjoy and take part in your own way. All while raising vital funds for veterans who have fallen furthest from where they want to be.
From planning to making the most of your big day, the team are ready to offer support and help you maximise your challenge to its full potential.

Support us monthly or with a one-off donation
A monthly gift could make a huge difference to those who have served and their families. By making a monthly donation, you can help us to continue supporting veterans over the long term. Whether that be with finding a suitable job, assisting them in overcoming mental health challenges, or helping them with welfare needs such as housing and reducing social isolation, your regular donation helps make progress possible.
Your monthly donation can go a long way in helping to change and save lives.
If a monthly gift isn’t right for you, you can make a one-off donation to help transform the lives of those who served. As well as supporting our main programmes, donations can boost our Quick Reaction Fund, allowing us to provide immediate support in an emergency, such as food vouchers or gas and electricity top-ups.
Corporate sponsors and supporters
If you’re a business looking to support the ex-military community, create and demonstrate social value and societal impact, while engaging your internal teams, we would love to hear from you.
From becoming a corporate partner or sponsoring one of our unique events, to engaging your staff through fundraising activities or promoting a payroll-giving offering, there are ways for corporate supporters of all sizes to get involved.
Alongside supporting our work with veterans, there are a multitude of benefits for businesses, including saving time and money on the recruitment of untapped military talent, connecting with 8,000+ Forces-friendly organisations who have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, and engaging staff with a range of unique team-building challenges, education opportunities and wellbeing support.
If you’re interested in learning more about how your business can get involved, reach out to our Partnerships team.

Other ways to support those who have served: legacy giving, in memory giving and payroll giving
Leave a legacy that lasts. A gift in your Will, large or small, can transform veterans’ futures. Your gift will help the veterans of tomorrow get the support they deserve. We can support you to make a will if you don’t have one already. You can find out more here.
You can also give a donation in memory of a loved one, or set up a fundraising page to honour them.
If you’re employed, you can also donate directly from your salary through payroll giving. It’s easy to set up, and it’s one of the most tax-efficient ways to give. You can speak to your employer directly to get this set up. But please reach out to our team if you have any questions.
Follow us on social media and sign up to our emails
You can find us on most social media platforms: Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube. All interactions - comments, likes, and shares - help increase our reach. Which means more people will hear about us, we can raise more funds, and we can connect with the ex-military community that may need our support.
You can also sign-up to our email communications to keep up to date with Walking With The Wounded and our engaged community.
