Military veteran Stephen Richardson, who served with the 1st Queen's Dragoon Guards (QDG), followed in the footsteps of famous Welsh prince and folk hero, Owain Glyndŵr, when he undertook the whole 135-mile trek along Glyndŵr's Way in the heart of Wales single-handedly and unsupported last month.

Steve, 57, set himself the target to complete the walk in nine days and despite some challenges along the way he managed to complete within the time set.

Steve raised money for two charities with his remarkable trek, ourselves and the QDG Regimental Benevolent Fund. He said: “Both charities have helped me in difficult times both financially, physically and mentally and I now wish to give something back to them for the help they have given me and to help others.”

Glyndŵr's Way is named after Owain Glyndŵr, the 15th century Welsh prince who attempted to establish an independent Welsh nation. The route is by, or close to, many sites connected with his ill-fated but long-running and culturally significant rebellion beginning in 1400.

Steve has so far raised an impressive £1,806.76, plus £314.25 in Gift Aid, in support of both charities - Well done, Steve!
