The Clinical team leading the Veteran mental health and wellbeing service, Op COURAGE, in the North East, was named Clinical Team of The Year at the recent Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust staff awards.
Walking With The Wounded are proud to have members of our team embedded into Op COURAGE, an NHS mental health specialist service in England. The service is supported by trained professionals who are from, or have experience working with, the Armed Forces community and is designed to give the right type of specialist care, support and treatment to each individual, including serving military personnel due to leave the military, military reservists, Armed Forces veterans and military families.
Commenting on the award, Susanna Duffy, Veteran Liaison Support Officer at WWTW and member of the Op COURAGE team, said: “We are delighted to receive this award, and it is an accumulation of everything we set out to achieve. I couldn’t ask for a better team to work with.”
David Lowe, Regional Manager at WWTW added: “This award highlights the dedication of the Op COURAGE clinical team, and their commitment to providing the right specialist support for each veteran they work with. It is truly well deserved, and it is an honour for Walking With The Wounded to help deliver this excellent service.”
