A team of 20 keen runners from Stockport-based company KNDS UK will take on the Manchester 10k race in aid of Walking With The Wounded.

KNDS UK is a renowned global leader in rapidly deployable bridging systems for military and disaster relief operations. The bridging systems support both military and humanitarian purposes, providing rapid and easily deployable gap-crossing capabilities as well as temporary infrastructure relief crucial to the rebuilding process in emergencies and disaster zones.

Speaking about the event, Emma Livingstone, KNDS UK Head of Marketing and Communications, said,“We are looking forward to running the Manchester 10K in aid of Walking With The Wounded. KNDS has been a prime contractor with the UK MoD for over 50 years, is an Armed Forces Covenant signatory, and achieved its Employer Recognition Scheme’s Gold Award in 2024. Through our Armed Forces Network, we support Cadets, Reservists and Veterans alike. Walking With The Wounded does important work to support those who served, and it felt like a natural fit for us to support the charity this year.”

In addition to the 20 runners, one KNDS UK team member is taking part in the Manchester half-marathon and joining the rest of the team for the 10K event afterwards.

Tom Grimshaw, WWTW Partnerships Manager, added, “We are grateful to the KNDS team for stepping up and choosing to support Walking With The Wounded at this year’s Manchester 10K. It’s a fantastic event that brings the community together in support of so many important causes, including the ex-military community. Thanks to organisations like KNDS UK, our team can continue to deliver our life-changing programmes to veterans who have given so much in service to our country and who now need support themselves."
