To mark the 80th anniversary of VE-Day on May 8th 2025, The English Distillery has launched a special whisky, donating £2 from every bottle of the single malt whisky sold to WWTW.
The family-owned English Distillery, based in Norfolk, is England’s oldest whisky distillery and home of ‘World’s Best Single Malt Whisky 2024’.
The English Distillery partnered with WWTW last year with a D-Day release, and this time as part of their commemorative collection have released 3,000 bottles of single malt which has been gently aged in a mix of ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks.
Kate Tabain, Director of Fundraising and Communications at WWTW said: “WWTW are thrilled to once again be partnering with The English Distillery to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day. Not only will the bottle acknowledge the sacrifices of so many to ensure peace in Europe, but all donations raised will be used to support veterans, whose service has maintained that peace.”
On the partnership, Katy Nelstrop from The English Distillery said: “£2 from every bottle will be donated directly to this wonderful cause, which leads the way in helping UK ex-servicemen and women who are struggling to adapt to civilian life receive 1-2-1 help to recover their wellbeing. Every bottle sold will help those who served.”
Around 25 people from local businesses attended the launch, enjoying a fascinating tour of the distillery process and the bonded warehouse, before sampling the VE-Day whisky, with its toffee, brown sugar and chocolate rich and smooth flavour.
Bottles of the strictly limited edition are available at selected local shops, direct from The English Distillery and online.
