WOB 2015

The Walk of Britain took on the incredible challenge of walking 1,000 miles across Britain in just 72 days, with the walk beginning in Scotland in August and finishing in London in November.

The Walk of Britain's core team was made up of six wounded ex-servicemen and women – Stewart Hill, Matt Fisher, Alec Robotham, Scott Ransley, Kirstie Ennis and Andrew Bement – who have all suffered physical or cognitive injuries sustained in the line of duty.

Prince Harry, Expedition Patron, joined the Walk of Britain team on two separate occasions across their 1,000 mile journey. Once, on their walk in parts of Shropshire and again in Norfolk, where the charity’s HQ is based.

Members of the public were also invited to join the team of six wounded veterans on their final mile down the Mall. The team were also joined by Invictus Games competitors JJ Chalmers, Don MacLean and Laura MacLean, Sam Stocks, Claire Edwards, Rob Cromey-Hawke and Karen Crome-Hawke, Kimberley Sterling and Gary Prout.

The expedition was sponsored by title partner YESSS Electrical, who had previously sponsored the Invictus Games, and also joined the Walk of Britain team on the road during the final phase of their challenge.
